March was a special time for Film & Chill as we celebrated International Women's Day with our screening of the Oscar-nominated classic Hidden Figures and Entitled by Adeyemi Michael.
In the glorious sunshine at our South London location, we kick-started the day with some charitable fundraising, helping to raise awareness for Sickle Cell Society and Women for Women International UK. For a small donation, guests could help themselves to a doughnut (for Sickle Cell) or a 'She Inspires Me' badge (for Women for Women International). We can safely say, they went down a storm.
As our guests relaxed, drank and ate from our delicious Vegan-friendly menu, our sold-out event had a few surprises.
Entitled made the headlines in 2018, featuring on Random Acts for Channel 4, BBC and London Film Festival. Film & Chill was honoured to screen the highly-coveted film.
But that's not all. Helping us celebrate the occasion as our special guests for the evening was the director, Adeyemi Michael and his mother Mrs Abosede Ajao, the star of Entitled. Before to the screening, they sat down for an insightful conversation about the importance of representation and women in society.

As the sun began to set, it was time for our guests to sit back and watch the film. To celebrate the theme, we created a supercut sizzle reel to celebrate inspirational women both on screen and off. As a final surprise to our special guests, Film & Chill presented flowers and chocolates to Mrs Ajao.
